If you ask me the best beach in Vietnam that I like most, my answer is Phu Quoc Island. What makes Phu Quoc Island so impressive to me? Beautiful beaches but not crowded, a variety of fresh seafood but cheap price and foremost, it is friendly and helpful local people. I am going to share with you places that you must visit when you are in Phu Quoc Island.
1. Sao Beach
Phu Quoc is home to some of best Vietnamese beaches: Long Beach, Sao Beach, Ong Lang beach…ect. Bai Sao is considered Phu Quoc’s best beach with photogenic white sand and turquoise water. Every tourist enjoy swimming, sunbathing and taking photos.

2. An Thoi Island
Your paradise where you see soft white sand, sparkling turquoise waters, tropical coral reef without people ? Escape to the An Thoi islands, an archipelago of 15 islands and islets just off the southern coast of Phu Quoc. The islands can be reached by charter boat
3. Phu Quoc night market
The most atmospheric and best-value place to dine on the island, Phu Quoc night market or Duong Dong’s busy night market has hundred stalls of snacks, coconut ice cream and a parade of outdoor restaurants serving a delicious range of Vietnamese seafood, grills and vegetarian options but good value.

4. Phu Quoc prison
Phu Quoc Prison serves as a bleak reminder of Vietnam’s turbulent past, where thousands people were imprisoned and tortured during the Vietnam War. Also called Coconut Tree Prison, this war museum now houses authentic torture instruments, photographs of former detainees and exhibits of brutal punishments. Built in 1949 by French colonists, it is believed to have detained over 40,000 Vietnamese soldiers and political figures who have opposed both French and American forces. Visiting this place, I felt pity for our grandfathers who fought hassly for our Independence and I do have a great admiration to their strong mind during the hard time.
5. Coi Nguon Museum
Coi Nguon Museum displays Vietnamese medicines, Stone Age tools, a boatful of barnacle-encrusted ceramics, oddly compelling shell-covered furniture and a small room devoted to the island prison.
6. Dinh Cau temple
Dinh Cau temple is a combination of temple and lighthouse which was built by local people in 1937 to honour Thien Hau, the Goddess of the Sea, who give protection and offer lucks for sailors and fishermen. Dinh Cau offers you a panoramic view of the harbour entrance. The promenade is popular with locals taking a stroll at sunset and it is best time to take amazing sunset photos.
7. Phu Quoc national park
Phu Quoc National park covers more than 50% of the island so it is definitely worth considering a visit, especially if you would like to escape the heat of the daytime sun, a walk along a park trail or motorbike ride on one of roads in the north will give you a taste of this natural environment on Phu Quoc.
Important note: The island is best to be explored with motorbikes. Motobike is available for rent in every hotel/ accomodation at around $7 US/day
